There is a band that sort of reminds me of this album. The reason is that it defies easy description beyond that they write songs that sound like they are written for gigantic choruses but fronted by just a couple of people. They are called Grouplove. Their records are uniformly terrific. Well, I say that, but I haven’t listened to their most recent so, maybe I’m wrong. But it’s on the second track, “Life Line” that I started thinking of them and how much I liked them but I would never be able to describe them to anybody.
That’s the same with The Dice.
The songs are pretty not great. But not bad enough to make me run screaming from my computer. “Its Your Money I Love” and it’s obnoxious Billy Joel Meets shitty Glam gave me a run for that money, tho.
I admit it. I started writing this as I was listening and by the time I got to Loaded Dice I was sad that I said anything remotely kind about this band.
Points for the early enjoyable.
But, in the end, skip this.
