As much as I loved The New York Dolls, for some reason it never occurred to me to give Sylvain a shot.

Somewhere in Heaven there’s gonna be a bar and that bar is going to feature just bands that all come from the same cloth and all seem like they belong in New Jersey. The club will be called “Bridge and Tunnel” and once in a while Bruce might stop by. But, all the other nights will feature Iron City Houserockers and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and Gary U.S. Bonds and a bunch of other bands, but because none of them will play on a Wednesday night, Syl Sylvain will play all day and night until the Jukes show up on Thursday and they will feature guest stars like The Boomtown Rats and, yes, John Cafferty.

But Wednesdays? Wednesdays are for Syl.

This album is almost very good. Almost.
