 “Borderline”

The latest from Ry Cooder.

It will take you straight to Austin!

Ry Cooder’s “Borderline” will transport you straight to an Austin honky tonk.

Maybe it's The Continental or perhaps Antone’s, the details don’t matter just put this on, close your eyes and you’re there: a darkened room with an ice-cold Shiner in hand and the tangy juice of bbq brisket on your lips, a low slung stage in front of you and on it what may be the best cover band in the world.

Go ahead and grab another beer from the bar.

That “Borderline” band on stage in Austin is playing a smoking set of deep R&B covers, songs touching on the universal themes of love, loss, women, how to get women, women that want to kill you, cars, Texas...all with a shit-hot slide and fingerstyle guitarist (who happens to be Ry Cooder) consistently pulling out the tastiest notes and leaving everyone’s jaws dropping.

This “Borderline” band will never bust out of the local scene, but that’s not what they’re aiming for.

They are just here to take you to Austin.

Ry Cooders’s “Borderline.”  It will take you straight to Austin!
