The Fire Engines
Lubricate Your Living Room
Genre: Post-Punk
4 out of 5
Highlights:
Get Up and Use Me
Guitars that seem to be recorded by people who have never played and are in different rooms. They can hear the other players but juuuuuuuust barely. The drummer is banging on a kid’s set that is mic’d to sound like he’s in a dorm closet and the singer has no idea where he is or what he is doing.
This is the kind of stuff that groups like Gone and others will practice throughout the decade but, unless you have/had a spectacular record shop proprietor, you would never have known it existed.
WARNING: Do not listen to “Discord” after your second cup of coffee. I am on my second cup of David Lynch Limited Edition Organic and yes, my heart is about to explode.
