This Scottish band defies a description because it’s really just perfectly fine piffle. The songs are mediocre but also just fine. Nothing grabs you by the throat, the wrist, the anything. It’s just there.
But I’m gonna go an extra step and say what it reminds me of, which is also something that it sounds nothing like: Gin Blossoms. Nowhere nearly as well crafted songs as those guys’ best but also just perfectly fine, songs driven by fairly competent musicians. I know, it doesn’t realllllly sound like that but I think, if you give them a minute, you are going to hear the bubbling of stuff that will come a decade later.
We all agree that the “80s” are dead by this point, tho, right?
