Take the Red Hot Chili Peppers, toss in some Rites of Spring and dial the arrogance wayyyyyyyy down while amping up the political rhetoric of the era and crank up the humor and that’s this Beefeater record.
In other words, there were a lot of people doing what RHCP were doing, they were doing it better and they reaped none of the commercial rewards.
Damn shame. This album is fun.
