Released: 1980 Epitaph See You In Alaska Genre: BlitzWitch Rating: 2.8 out of 5 Epitaph was a German post-psychedelic prog rock band formed in the late 60s. By 1980, they were essentially a completely different band, like how Jefferson Airplane became Starship. ------------------------- Reviews from RATE YOUR MUSIC: "This is really bad. Hard to believe this is the same band but of course it isn't." (in disbelief I follow the demise of this band, their first one was their best and after that it's only towards the drain level. What they have achieved with this LP!) "This could be a part of a pro deafness campaign. Worthless arena rock. Avoid it." ------------------------- Armed with the above knowledge, I innocently asked my 16-year-old son if he'd be interested in reviewing an album for the Listening Post. He said sure. But alas, we're still working on follow-through. ------------------------- It's not REALLY bad. "Fantasy" has a kicky synth section three-quarters of the way in that sounds like Giorgio Jetson sat in with the band and got his 21st Century Dad groove on. But yes, it is tired, mediocre German hard rock or heavy metal. Double-tracked vocals. "Go For It" stock rock music.
