Requisite 80s cover: The Fuzztones’ “Talk Talk”. I don’t know that song. But this is any indication, I bet it’s a garage-y nugget I should hear. This is great.
More Canadian rock! This time from London, Ontario.
I was in London Ontario for work once. Cute little town. Great used book store. Nice people.
Amp up New York Dolls and tell them to write songs like The Ramones and this is what you get.
The ambient sounds of the city amp up their signature sound which feels like the bridge between The VU and the Dolls that we really needed.
The Demics’ sound is either too late to make the right kind of splash or it’s the exact right time to be the last gasp of a certain style of music. Either way, if you dig that sinister Too Tough to Die sound you might like this. I wasn’t expecting piano on “400 Blows” and that, itself, made it a highlight.
“All Gone Wrong” is a terrific companion piece to Dead Kenndys “The Prey”.
