Prime Time
From the ashes of Skynrd, here comes RCB. It’s refreshing as hell to hear this music with a vocalist like Dale Krantz behind the mic. It’s very Joplin. It’s a sound we get a lot more of in a few decades and I welcome it. Someone more knowledgable than I should let me know if this is “Southern Rock” or “Country” cuz it sounds like what we call “Country” today and I often thing that Country is the silo where rock has gone after being exiled by Indie and Pop.
Ultimately this falls under the weight of its own vices. It’s loaded with guitar slinging solos and mid-tempo verses in search of choruses whose hooks never fully materialize.
