REQUISITE 80S COVER:
Damned for All Time from…checks notes…Jesus Christ Superstar. It’s excellent and sounds little like the original, more like the theme to Wacky Races.
I know I’ve said this before. Look it up, if you can search it somehow, but THIS is a perfect example of what will become THE sound of Rock in about 5 years.
Mudhoney.
Mother Love Bone.
Pearl Jam.
Soundgarden.
Nirvana.
Sonic Youth.
They will all take this sound and make it their own and wear flannel and explode onto the scene changing music as we know it for a while.
I don’t know anything about The Jesus Lizard but that’s what this project will become. I’m here for it.
This is the sound of brains exploding in fever dreams influenced by spending too much time listening to Butthole Surfers and stripping the weirdness out in favor of a massive sonic attack.
It gets a little Gone-style Jazz Odyssey toward the end but I feel like they are just tryna figged it all out.
