The 80s were fecking weird, man.
I didn’t know James except for that one super-weirdo hit in the 90s. But I knew that they had been around for a while. What I wasn’t expecting was songs that talk about worms digging into your ears to eat the wax.
I think this is a folk rock album but it’s really it’s an acoustic rock driven thing with near stream of consciousness lyrics and I sort of love it.
This sounds like a band that has it’s own ideas and is going to keep pursuing them if given the chance. But, on their own terms. Nice.
