What is “alt-country”? Isn’t it just...country? This feels more like a hoedown than anything in the “rock” idiom.
For what it is it’s perfectly fine. I would absolutely have expected to see them on that late night country Jamboree show that replaced Saturday Night Live reruns in the summer in Bar Harbor, Maine. (What the hell was that thing called????)
But I would have tuned them out pretty early on.
