Released: 1981 Burton Cummings Sweet Sweet Genre: Downward Sloping Trajectory Rating: 3 out of 5 Highlights: You Saved My Soul Probably the best Kenny Loggins album Burton ever recorded. Burton Cummings has one of the great voices of classic rock. His voice is strong here, but the material is half adult contemporary and half "Your Momma Can't Dance"-style rockers. You Saved My Soul quietly surprises at first as a sleeper entry in the "Early 1980s Movie Theme Songs" category, but on repeated listens, you realize the verse, the chorus is a throwaway, and the rhymes are all moon in June. But his voice! Like they say, just a spoonful of sugar.
